In addition to local authority initiatives and Waste Aware campaigns, there are a number of local community groups in Tayside engaged in waste reduction, reuse and recycling activities.
These activities include things like community waste education, composting, furniture reuse projects, and recycling collections.
The Community Recycling Network for Scotland (CRNS) can provide further information about community waste initiatives, and advice to community groups involved in this sector. Please visit www.crns.org.uk.
You can find details of key local community groups in the Tayside section of the CRNS website.
To find out more about CRNS, please call: 01786 469002, email: info@crns.org.uk or visit: www.crns.org.uk
Please contact each project directly if you are interested in finding out more about their services.
SWAG aims to support the work of the community sector wherever possible, and can provide communication strategies and campaigning advice at no charge. If you are part of a community group that is interested in finding out more, please contact us.
You can also find out if there is a local Freecycle group operating in your area on the Freecycle Network website.
