There are 221 Recycling Centres and Points in Tayside.
Recycling at Centres and Points has increased by around 30% since the launch of a Tayside wide campaign in October 2004 with more people recycling their cans, paper, glass and other items than ever before.
The Councils in Tayside are continuing with their commitment to increase the number of recycling facilities available and expand the range of materials they accept. In addition to taking part in your Kerbside Recycling schemes, your local Recycling Centres & Points help you to recycle the majority of your household and garden waste.

| The Campaign used TV, Radio, Press ads and a variety of outdoor advertising to provide information about local facilities. |

| During June and July 2005, a Waste Aware survey was conducted during which doorstep surveyors consulted 454 residents from across Tayside. The purpose of the survey was to assess public attitudes and behaviour after the Tayside Recycling Centres and Points Campaign, and the introduction of new facilities and signage. It was also to assess the effectiveness of the Waste Aware campaign and inform its next phase. 78% of those asked currently recycle in some way, 63% using one or both of recycling centres and points.
