| Reduce & reuse school supplies |
Before you go back to school after the holidays think about how you can reduce and reuse.
- Sort through your old materials - you might find lots of pens, pencils and note books that can still be used.
- Many schools reuse textbooks to save money and reduce waste. Share your used books with friends, relatives, or younger school children.
- Cover your books with paper bags or old wrapping paper. This helps to use up waste paper and keeps your books in good condition.
- When you buy new supplies, look for long-lasting products and reuse them. Refillable pens and pencils, a durable backpack and a lunchbox are all great examples of supplies that can be used over and over again.
- Whenever you can buy school stationery made from recycling materials. More information on where to buy recycled products can be found under the reuse section of Sort It.
